Looking north
My interests centre on the North: its landscapes, wildlife, history, and the ways people live alongside nature. My work in Nordic travel forms part of that connection, while photography and writing give me a way to explore it personally.
I’m drawn to the details that make a place distinctive—the weather, the changing light, and the quiet moments that are easy to pass by.
Why the Arctic fox
The Arctic fox offers a compelling way to look more closely at Iceland. Following its story brings together the landscapes it inhabits, its relationship with people, and questions about how we understand and care for wildlife.
That connection between an animal and the world around it is what I want to explore through Arctic Fox.
Building the project
I created this website as a place to bring those threads together. Through history, research, photography, and field observations, my aim is to build an accessible resource for anyone curious about the fox and its place in Iceland.
Careful sourcing matters to me, as does making room for the questions we are still learning to answer.
Photography will be an evolving part of the website. Alongside developing my own work, I hope to feature photographers who bring their own perspectives and experience to the subject—with clear credit and space for the stories behind their images.
Throughout the project, I want respect for wildlife and its surroundings to guide how stories are gathered and shared.
Thor from the North
Arctic Fox is part of Thor from the North, my broader work documenting northern life through photography and storytelling. It gives one subject the time and attention to be explored in greater depth.
My hope is that you leave with a better understanding of the Arctic fox—and a little more curiosity about the landscape it calls home.
A Thor from the North project.
